For the people of Mongolia their farming lasts 95-110 days. Agriculture constitutes about 21% of the countries Gross Domestic Product , or GDP. 90% of the land is used for agricultural use. There are four main crops grown in Mongolia. These four crops include corn , wheat , barely , and potatoes. The main animals raised in Mongolia are sheep, goats, cattle, horses, camels , and pigs. The main reasons they raise these animals are for their meet. Also goats are used for their hair in Mongolia. They also do forestry. The forestry is accounted for 1/6th of the GNP , gross national product. Fishing is another type of agriculture in Mongolia. Farming has been increasing. After World War 2 Mongolia has been expanded its farming. In the 1950's farming operations commensed on a large scale. Mongolia , with help of the soviet union, got agricultural machines. Industry -
The mining industry makes up for 55% of Mongolia's industrial output. These mining products include coal , copper , and gold. Mining consists of 14% of Mongolia's GPD. Mongolia has over 100 billion tons of coal reserves. Most of the industry is based off of agriculture and natural resources. In 1935 Mongolia's industry started. It had its first power plant , tanneries, clothes factories and , wool scouring mills. Like said above, industry boomed after War War 2. Most of the industries were located in Ulaanbaator , the capital of Mongolia. In the 1970's construction industries grew. Later on more industries grew. In the 1980's the light industry, energy industry, and mining industry became very important in Mongolia. Today the main industries of Mongolia today is mining, construction materials, oil , food and beverages, and animal products. All of this makes up Mongolia's industry.

Mongolia has many businesses. One big business is banks , the most popular one is the Bank of Mongolia. The leader of consumer goods in Mongolia is Toshony electronics. Some of the other businesses are television. Mongolia has a business council. It was found in 2007 to promote increased trade and investment in Mongolia. It has business partners working with them to promote it as well. Some of these includes Forbes Mongolia Magazine , Invest Mongolia Agency, and Mongolian Gold Producers' Association. There are some farming businesses as well. There are many businesses in the urban and rural sides of Mongolia. They work together to make Mongolia a strong economic country.
